Bassets Lettings - About Us

Bassets is an independent, award-winning and family-run Estate agent covering Salisbury, Amesbury, Andover, Fordingbridge and the surrounding areas.

The team boast a wealth of experience and knowledge from the Directors and owners Stuart and Maryam Calvert through to Head of Lettings & Sales Quentin Thatcher who has run and managed the business since 2013.

Customer Service has always been at the heart of everything we do – an ethos that has helped Bassets quickly grow to be the #1 Lettings Specialist in the Area. We pride ourselves on our reputation of being fair, honest and completely transparent in everything we do. Our customers (landlords, tenants and contractors in particular) seem to appreciate this difference – helping us to grow through recommendations and repeat business. This strong foundation continues to allow the company to go from strength to strength.

Quentin has a vast amount of knowledge and possesses a wealth of experience having spent the past 31 years in the property industry. His ethos and belief in providing excellent customer service and transparency are key to our continued success and why we are entrusted to manage over 425 properties locally whilst finding tenants for a further 250 properties.

    Quentin - Bassets Lettings

    Quentin Thatcher, MARLA, MNAEA - Head of Lettings & Sales

    Quentin has worked in the property industry since 1989 and has an abundance of knowledge and experience in residential sales, lettings and new homes. Quentin started his early career in Kingston upon Thames working predominantly in the London and Surrey markets until 2005 when he then moved to Hampshire. He joined Bassets in October 2013 believing his own ethos and passion blends well with the core values at Bassets; to provide outstanding customer service and to offer open, honest and professional advice.
    Quentin is married to Dawn, has three children and when not supporting their various sporting endeavours, he enjoys taking Monty & Luna the Labrador along with Bracken the mad Springer Spaniel for country walks. Whilst not playing these days, in any other spare time, Quentin is a keen cricket and football fan.

    How can I help? : Quentin oversees the running of the whole of the lettings & Sales business, carrying out the majority of valuations, general lettings advice, notices, rent reviews, legal advice, complying with legislation & buy-to-let advice.

    Bassets Lettings Salisbury

    Luke Russell - Assistant Manager

    Luke joined the team in November 2017 as a Letting/Marketing Administrator. Luke had previously worked in the retail industry for 5 years, but with an interest in property and enjoying working in a small personable team, a change of career was afoot.

    In his spare time Luke enjoys socialising with friends and family, watching the Rugby and going to see live music at various Festivals and gigs.

    How can I help? : Luke splits his time between conducting viewings and dealing with the companies social media. Luke also deals with processing applications, interacting with Landlords, general marketing and aiding in admin duties within the office.

    Valentina Milos

    Valentina Milos - Accounts &Administrator

    Born and raised in Romania, Valentina has travelled the world and lived in four different countries in the last 10 years. For the past 12 years she has worked in different sectors of customer service, which she enjoys very much.

    In Valentina’s spare time, she loves to spend time with her husband, taking long walks in the countryside, travelling and socialising with friends.

    How can I help? : Valentina deals with accounts and the arranging of plus arranging and booking safety certificates such as Gas Safeties and EICR.

    Jamie Yeats - Bassets Lettings Salisbury

    Jamie Yeats - Letting Negotiator

    Jamie joined Bassets in February 2018 as an Apprentice Maintenance Administrator. Since leaving school, Jamie has always had a passion for working in the business industry and loves the idea of working in a small, friendly environment. In the time that he has been working in an office environment, it has given him the skills and has led to two promotions with Bassets the latest as a Lettings Negotiator.
    In Jamie’s spare time, he enjoys watching and playing football and socialising with friends and family.

    How can I help? : Within his role, Jamie will support Luke and team dealing with enquiries, arranging viewings, liaising with Landlords on a day to day basis and dealing with the new tenancy and move in process.

  • Property Management, Maintenance & Post Tenancy Team

    Lauren Willis - Bassets Letting

    Lauren Willis - Part Time Property Manager

    Lauren has returned to Bassets having been with Bassets from 2015 to 20221 and returning to the team in May 2022.

    How can I help? : In Laurens role, she carries out regular property inspections and produces feedback to landlords in regards to inspections of their properties.

    Charlotte Naylor - Property & Maintenance Manager

    Charlotte has joined the team having worked in the property industry for approximately 3 and half years and has a real focus on customer service and will be a great asset in our Property
    Management, Maintenance & Post Tenancy Team.

    Charlotte is keen on music and in particular festivals, travelling and in her spare time going to the gym and keeping fit.

    How can I help?: Charlotte will deal with maintenance issues, liaising with Contractors with all aspects of property management and the end of tenancy process, from instructing and carrying out End of tenancy inspections and dealing with deductions and deposit returns.

    Mark Court - Bassets

    Mark Court - Maintenance Manager

    Mark has worked for the company since 2018 and brings a wealth of experience managing maintenance.

    Mark is a dedicated family man, a Dad and a proud Grandfather. He also enjoys Football and spending time in the garden and DIY.

    How can I help?: Mark's focus is to look after all aspects of property maintenance processing requests from tenants, arranging quotes and works and ensuring both the tenant and landlord are updated at all stages.

    Stuart Calvert - Director

    Stuart has been the Director of the successful Northwood Southampton branch for over ten years. He is also very experienced is sales and lettings and has managed various job roles in the industry.

    Maryam Calvert, Dip RLM - Director

    "I love leaving work knowing I have happy landlords and vendors knowing their property investment is in safe hands, I pride myself on my team giving exceptional customer service and being friendly and approachable.” Maryam has worked for Northwood since 2005, helping to run and grow a successful office in Southampton she has a wealth of knowledge in letting and has achieved a Level 4 Diploma in Residential lettings and management.
